Gingerbread Update Still Waiting...

Now as Ice cream Sandwich is ready to be released in next couple of months, lets take time and rank the best and the worst companies in providing updates to their phones. lets start from the best:-

1. HTC

I have been a big fan of HTC for a long time now. I have used HTC Touch, S710, Touch Diamond, Tattoo and Desire. Although HTC has not kept its word of delivering Eclair i.e. Android 2.1 for Tattoo, they have updated most of their phones to the latest versions of android pretty quickly.

2. Samsung


I think Samsung have taken over the mobile world by storm with their wonderfully designed phones. But they have not been the best in updating their phones, although most of their phones have started receiving gingerbread updates in different parts of the world if you are not in that part of the world you would be disappointed. We expect more from Samsung.

3. SonyEricson


SE has not been one of my favorite company since I had an horrible experience with SE service its awful in India. But all that has changed after the introduction of android. SE did take a long time to update X10, but still they did it.

4. Motorola


I donot know much about motorola phone, but certainly think its better than LG.

5. LG


I am a fan of LG Mobiles, loved my viewty when I had it. But have been very disappointed with them recently. Their flagship phone, the first dual core phone THE LG OPTIMUS 2X is still running Froyo except in USA where it runs Stock android.

I certainly feel all these companies have to provide quick updates or all android lovers will have only one option that is to buy a NEXUS phone.
